This proposal is to enhance the X-ray crystallography capabilities at Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM). The X-ray Crystallography facility will be enhanced in two ways: upgrade of the mirrors and the purchase of a state-of-the-art micro-crystallization system. These changes and equipment acquisition will reduce electricity usage and service contract costs, while greatly improving data collection, crystal growth and optimization. These improvements will advance the development of novel therapeutics to target a variety of diseases.
