The grant assists the development and implementation of activities, programs and courses for biotechnology education and training at the K-12 level.

One submission date yearly. Proposals received by fax, e-mail or paper will not be accepted.
Support Guidelines
- No award will exceed $6,000;
- Awards are made for 12 months;
- An institution is unlikely to receive awards for more than one proposal submitted in the same year. A project director is unlikely to receive awards in two successive years;
- Purchase of computers will generally not be allowed, unless required for a specific scientific application.
The Mini-Grant Program will fund the purchase of biotechnology-related equipment, supplies and educational materials for the purpose of:
- Expanding or strengthening pre-existing courses or activities;
- Establishing either new courses or activities;
- Conducting teacher professional development or educational outreach at the local level.
