The grant financially supports a postdoctoral fellow or technician in a university research laboratory who will perform a project of commercial interest under the guidance of a principal investigator.
The Kenan Institute for Engineering, Technology and Science and the Biotechnology Center jointly sponsor this grant.
The Collaborative Funding Grant aims to:
- Encourage collaboration between academia and industry
- Help to move technology from the lab to commercialization
- Leverage Biotechnology Center money with the Kenan Institute
Funding and Matching Requirements
The award is $40,000 to $50,000 per year based on the partner company's size. The total funding with match is $80,000 per year.
