This grant promotes and supports national and international meetings which advance the understanding or application of biotechnology and focus national and international attention on the North Carolina scientific community.
Meetings must promote information sharing and personal interaction focused on biotechnology research, education, or business.

Funding and Matching Requirements
The highest amount awarded is $10,000.
- Awards typically cover costs such as speaker fees, travel expenses, event-site rental and publicity.
- All award money is given to the applicant's organization. The money must be used solely to support the event outlined in this application.
- If the event is cancelled, the applicant must return all money the Biotechnology Center advanced for this event.
- Applicant is expected to obtain significant outside support, in addition to Biotechnology Center money.
- This sponsorship does not provide money either to promote a specific product to benefit a few companies or individuals.
- This sponsorship does not cover food or refreshments for event attendees.

Any organization planning a national or international meeting in North Carolina focusing on biotechnology or its related aspects.
