The Hamner Conference Center includes seven meeting rooms, a 170-seat auditorium, video conference facility and brightly lit upper and lower gallerias.
Each Conference Center space is uniquely suited to particular meetings and events, and we are certified by IACC, the International Association of Conference Centers.

- Board of Directors Room
This second-floor room features a D-shaped oak table with seating for 40 people. With 1,100 square feet, it is quite spacious, and the skylights and numerous windows provide natural light that can be controlled during presentations. This room has a formal atmosphere that has made it a favorite for visits by heads of state, trustee meetings, and other meetings in which such an atmosphere is imperative.
- Ciba-Geigy Garden
Lush green grass, marble sculptures and trellises topped with jasmine are all concealed from the entry road by a half-moon brick wall to create a peaceful, secluded atmosphere in the Ciba-Geigy Garden. The garden has been used for various outdoor events including receptions and tent events. It comfortably accommodates 175 people.
- Congressional Room
One of our largest and most versatile rooms, the Congressional Room has generous natural light and three double-wide doors that open into the Ciba-Geigy Garden, making it a perfect companion for an outdoor reception. With more than 1,600 square feet, this room allows for various set-ups and ideally accommodates groups between 10 and 100 people depending on room configuration.
- Queta Bond Auditorium
This 173-seat auditorium ideally serves as a host room for panel discussions, formal presentations, and seminars. An elevated stage, versatile lighting and audio-visual equipment make this room the first choice for many planners. After a presentation, hold a reception just outside the doors in the Glaxo Galleria.
- Glaxo Galleria
Natural lighting, 40-foot ceilings and hardwood floors lend this area with a bright, spacious appearance. It is ideal for receptions and networking events. The Glaxo Galleria has nearly 1,700 square feet and is located near all our meeting spaces.
Governors Room
This room honors Gov. Mike Easley and former Govs. Jim Hunt and Jim Martin for their support of the state's biotechnology effort. The 250-square-foot room seats 10 and includes a white board for tracking meeting discussions. This room is ideal for planning groups, interviews, and small discussions.
- Presidents Room
This room has 475 square feet of meeting space and, depending on set-up, can accommodate between 18 and 22 people depending on room configuration. It is often used for training classes and as a break-out room from other meeting spaces.
Research Triangle Foundation Room
Named for the Research Triangle Foundation, the developer of Research Triangle Park and a financial contributor to the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's headquarters building, this second-floor room comfortably seats 16 people around a unique triangular oak table. Windows along one wall provide a view of the Ciba-Geigy Garden and augment the room's professional atmosphere with generous amounts of natural light.
This room is ideal for a lunch meeting away from the office, a project meeting, or any small group meeting requiring a unique, professional atmosphere.
