Teachers can take advantage of these resources provided by the North Carolina Biotechnology Center.
- Free Lab Supplies. Teachers who graduate from the summer workshops are qualified to receive annual gift certificates from Carolina Biological Supply. Teachers can also purchase lab supplies including ready-to-use biotechnology kits.
- Free Access to Lab Equipment. Summer workshop graduates (and other teachers with appropriate training) may borrow equipment kits from eight different sites around the state.
- Audio/Video Loan Program. North Carolina teachers from any school may borrow biotechnology-related videos from the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's media center for two weeks. Click here to complete our Teacher Video Request Form.

- The Biotechnology Institute: This site offers articles from out-of-print issues focusing on topics such as tissue engineering and microbes.

K-12th grade
- The National Science Teachers Association is the world's largest organization dedicated to improving science teaching.
- The Access Excellence site offers an activities exchange service, a visual library, discussion boards and more.
- The University of Kansas Medical Center's Genetic Lesson Plans offer a host of genetic lesson plan ideas and links.
- The Dolan DNA Learning Center's Gene Almanac is the world's first science center devoted to public genetics education. The Learning Center is an operating unit of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
- Community Learning Network: Genetics and Biotechnology Theme Page. This site offers more than 15 links to instructional materials and curricular resources.
- The Lesson Plans Page: A collection of more than 2,000 lesson plans, developed by the University of Missouri, for students primarily at the elementary-school level.
High School

- The BioTech site offers life science resources and reference tools.
- The Biotech Adventures Web site offers a series of entertaining animations and graphics. The site requires the Macromedia Flash Player for best viewing.
- The Biology Project includes lesson plans.
- BioREACH: This program incorporates biotechnology in high schools through the Arizona State University program.
- Lab activities, including a DNA extraction exercise that doubles as a recipe for smoothies
- The Kennedy Institute of Ethics' Bioethics Curriculum Project at Georgetown University offers various educational resources.
- GENE: Genetics Education Network, whose motto is "Dedicated to rescuing teachers and other students from terminal boredom by helping them do real science with modern research organisms."
- The Genetic Science Learning Center in Utah produces genetics programs for Web publications. Professional development programs for teachers, including weeklong courses and shorter workshops focusing on genetics, biotechnology and bioethics, are available.
