This park provides office and lab space for corporate, governmental and not-for-profit entities in addition to providing space for university research centers and departments. NCRC is a 350 acre campus in the suburban Charlotte community of Kannapolis. Created by David Murdock, this campus fosters collaboration and advancement in the fields of biotechnology, nutrition and health. Wake Forest Innovation Quarter is a place for research, business and education in biomedical science, information technology, digital media, clinical services and advanced materials. The Innovation Quarter has approximately 3,100 people working in over 60 companies and five academic institutions and 7,500 students undertaking advanced education and workforce training annually. The Innovation Quarter currently comprises 1.8 million square feet of office, laboratory and educational space on its 145 developable acres. In addition, there are 800 apartments and condominiums within or close by the Innovation Quarter.

The Research Triangle Park is the original, and still largest research park in the U.S. stretching over 7,000 acres. It includes major facilities of more than 170 global companies including GlaxoSmithKline, RTI International, Syngenta, Bayer, BASF, Thermo Fisher, PRA Health Sciences, INC Research, PPD and Quintiles. Located between three major universities, the Park generates economic activity and innovation through collaboration between universities, industry and government.

MARBIONC is a R&D-based economic and workforce development program based at UNC Wilmington that discovers, develops, and markets new products and technologies related to the sea. Designed by scientists for scientists, our state-of-the-art building offers multi-functional laboratories and specialized research equipment designed to catalyze partnerships and promote economic development through translational research.
