ACT is developing a series of medical devices that are coated with halofuginone, a potent inhibitor of Type I collagen, which is the major contributing factor in stricture and adhesion throughout the human body. Numerous pre-clinical studies have shown that halofuginone eliminates these strictures and adhesions in animal and human models. This project will have a significant positive impact on patient care and help to reduce billions of dollars in associated health care costs.
