We request funds to assemble a molecular manipulation system -- the nanoManipulator. The proposed funds will purchase a state-of-the-art atomic force microscope (AFM): a nanoscale imaging, manipulation and force measurement tool for molecular, cellular and cell culture studies enabling basic science of biology and for biomedical studies.
