Emerging Vectorborne Diseases in the Southeastern United States: An Evaluation for National and Global Security
Vectorborne diseases are historically common in the southeastern US. The region is now
threatened by both the introduction of new vectorborne diseases and the re-emergence of
endemic diseases. The Southeast Research Center of Excellence on Emerging Infections
and Biofense (SERCEB) is holding a meeting of local and international experts to discuss
this threat to our national and global health security.
