Plants have intricate networks to ensure their biological processes occur at the appropriate time of day. Optimum performance of next-generation agricultural biotechnology traits will require integration into these networks. However, temporal regulation in monocots is poorly understood. We will identify promoters driving specific daily expression patterns in monocot crop species.
