The purchase of the DM100 magnetic hyperthermia system will allow for pre-clinical evaluation of magnetic nanoparticles that generate heat when exposed to magnetic fields. The equipment will allow for thermal analysis in solution as well as within tissues to evaluate hyperthermia as a treatment for cancer and bacterial infections.
