Bernart has spent nearly all of her career in economic development. Since joining NCBiotech in February 2014 as marketing manager, she oversees strategies for social media, email nurturing and paid search for corporate recruitment efforts. In addition, Bernart plans and organizes North Carolina’s presence at the annual BIO International Convention and other trade shows. She manages the budgets, sponsorship campaigns, exhibits, receptions, and email and social media marketing campaigns related to those events.
Before joining the Center, Bernart served for nearly seven years as the marketing programs manager at the North Carolina Department of Commerce in Raleigh, marketing the state as a destination for businesses to relocate or expand. Bernart previously served as a small-business counselor for the Small Business Development Center of Hampton Roads, Inc. in Virginia, and as a trade development consultant for the New Zealand Consulate in New York City.
She has an MBA with concentrations in marketing and international business from Syracuse University and a B.S. in biomedical science from Texas A&M University.
