From Research Triangle Park/Greensboro/Hickory:
- Drive on I-40 West.
- Take exit 46 (Left exit) onto I-26 East.
- Take I-26 to the next exit (number 33) onto Highway 191 / Brevard Rd.
- Turn Left at the light at the end of the ramp to head South on Highway 191 / Brevard Rd.
- After about 1.5 miles, turn Right at a stoplight where you see a brown sign that says NC Arboretum Service Entrance. (If you go to the stoplight for the Blue Ridge Parkway, you have gone one stoplight too far.)
- The road will curve to the Left and become Wesley Branch Road.
- You will quickly come to a curve in the road, and at the bend of the curve you will see a gravel drive on the Left with a gate.
- This drive will have a street sign, Grady Parris Lane, and a mailbox with the number 21.
